About

OUR MISSION

The mission of Houston Canterbury, a ministry of the Episcopal Church, is to form new communities guided by the wisdom and reconciling love of Jesus Christ.  We strive to embrace the historical diversity and depth of Anglican tradition and Christian practice, thus creating spaces for dialogue and variety of belief.  That means all are welcome to join in the holy conversation and to be a part of a difference-making people.

A COMMUNITY-BASED VISION

This ministry for and by students, faculty and staff has a home base at the AD Bruce Religion Center, 3800 Cullen Blvd, Suite 205, on the campus of the University of Houston. However, we believe in going out to the places where college students live and work to gather people, regardless of school affiliation.  Students from San Jacinto Community College, Houston Community College, University of Houston-Downtown, the University of St. Thomas, and Texas Southern University find a supportive, fun, and curious community through Houston Canterbury.
