CANTERBURY THIS WEEK

Tuesday, December 5 – Hear the Gospel according to Mark as it was meant to be read, in its entirety.  At 6:30 pm, we will get together at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for a reading of Mark’s gospel.  There will be an intermission, food, and the gospel will be read by different voices.  If you would like to read, get in touch with Eileen (eobrien@houstoncanterbury.org).

Mark Your Calendars:

Friday, December 15, 5:30-10 pm – Popcorn Theology @ The Last Jedi.  We will get together downtown at the AMC Dine-in Houston 8 for the 6 pm showing, followed by dinner and discussion.  RSVP required: reserve your tickets with Eileen for a mere $10. That includes your ticket, snacks, and dinner at Birraporetti’s for discussion following the movie.  Parking is free at the Cathedral (1117 Texas Ave – Entrance to the garage is off San Jacinto between Texas and Prairie).

Saturday, December 16 – La Gran Posada de la Catedral – Join us for the fully bilingual Cathedral Posada at Christ Church Cathedral, downtown, from 7-9 pm.  Food will be plentiful, and this is a family-friendly event. If you haven’t been to a Posada before, this is the perfect way to be introduced to this tradition.

January 26-28: College Retreat at Camp Allen

The 2018 Episcopal Diocese of Texas College Retreat will be held January 26-28 at Camp Allen! Join us for a weekend of worship, workshops, and relaxation as we learn how to navigate the many conflicting messages we receive about who to be, how to live, what to major in, and much more!
