Harvey Assistance for Students and Families

The storm has past, but the need remains.  Weeks after Harvey, while many are working hard to find a new normal, others are only just now able to see what they really need.

If you are in need of assistance there is still help available to you through UH:

On October 2, St. James Episcopal Church in the Third Ward will open as a distribution center for material needs such as cleaning supplies, hygiene kits, socks and underwear, bedding, and baby basics.  If you are participating in a team headed out to help people clean out or if you are cleaning out your own home, you might want to stop by St. James.

Finances are tight, and we know that many are still struggling for their daily bread.  On Sunday nights, we get together at St. Luke the Evangelist (3530 Wheeler Ave) at 6:30 pm for prayer, food and quality time in community.  All are welcome, so drop on by.

If you are a college student whose family is in need of emergency assistance (rental or utilities help, tuition assistance, etc), please don’t hesitate to get in touch with The Rev. Eileen O’Brien (eobrien@houstoncanterbury.org) to see what we can make happen.
