Canterbury this Week: April 17-23

Tuesday, April 18, 7-8:30 pm: Grace Hour at Bohemeo’s
This Easter season we will be meditating on Henri Nouwen’s tiny book, With Burning Hearts. In this text, Nouwen asks a good question: What does the strange act of Eucharist have to do with the life we live? Nouwen helps us figure out what eucharistic living looks like with the help of the Emmaus story. On 4/18/17, we will explore the Emmaus story and focus on the first movement of the story: Grief. What do we do with our losses?

Wednesday, April 19
11:30am – 1pm, FREE Lunch at the AD Bruce Religion Center
12:15 pm – 12:45 pm: Common Worship in the Meditation Chapel on the 2nd floor

Sunday, April 23, 6:30-8:30 pm, Bread in the Wilderness
As the days and nights grow more hectic, be sure to take time to pray and to eat with friends.  Join us this Sunday night at St. Luke the Evangelist Episcopal Church (3530 Wheeler) for the Eucharist and time together over dinner.  Friends are welcome.  There is always enough food to share.

Note:  The Rev. Eileen O’Brien will be in DC this week from Thursday through Sunday for the Missional Voices Conference at Virginia Theological Seminary.
