Tuesday, January 31: Grace Hour at Bohemeo’s (7-8:30 pm)
Join us for Grace Hour just off campus at Bohemeo’s. Dinner is on Canterbury. This week, we will delve into another story you thought you knew, the Book of Ruth.
Wednesday, Feb 1:
Raise the Age Press Conference at the Rothko Chapel, 11 am Texas is one of only seven states that sends 17-year- olds into the adult criminal justice system and charges them as adults, even for minor offenses. Sending youth into the adult system has serious consequences for their mental health and physical wellbeing. Advocates are encouraging Texas legislators to prioritize raising the age of juvenile jurisdiction to 18, and promote effective interventions and diversion programs that hold youth accountable for their actions while also ensuring pathways to success in the community. This is an opportunity to stand with our friends at ReVision and others in the Houston faith community working for criminal justice reform.
